About the FCA

Welcome to the website of the Foreign Correspondents' Association of Southern Africa. The FCA is a non-profit organization representing the interests of some 200 international journalists based in southern Africa. In addition to holding events with newsmakers throughout the year, the association acts as a watchdog for press freedom and strives to ensure that its members are able to work throughout the region without being intimidated or harassed.

This website provides a number of services for members and visiting journalists. Users will find links to government, non-profit agencies and local newspapers; and contacts for fellow journalists and photographers; plus information regarding visa and travel requirements in various African countries.

The site is updated regularly. We hope it will be a useful resource for both visiting and veteran journalists working in Southern Africa. Please feel free to contact the FCA Secretary fca@onwe.co.za with any concerns, queries, anecdotes about working in the region, or any other information that would be useful to pass along to fellow journalists.
